What’s your name and role on the team?
My name is Rob Jankowski and I am a Marion Strong IFOC Ordained Chaplain
What inspired you to join the peer support team?
I was asked by the county to be one of two chaplains for the employees of Marion County. As a former 14 year addict who has been clean for over 34 years, it is my passion to serve people who are hurting physically, emotionally or spiritually.
What’s your background or experience with peer support?
Completed Vineyard Leadership Institute in 2011. Ordained Pastor since 2015. Completed Billy Graham First Responders Chaplaincy course in 2025. Completed “Struggle Well” course in 2024.
What’s one piece of advice or encouragement you’d share with someone seeking support?
Stay close to Jesus. If you don’t know what that looks like, reach out to someone who does. Jeremiah 29:11 – “I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love talking and being with my family and Christian family. Both families are all over the US so connecting with them brings me joy. I enjoy the beautiful springs we have here in Central Florida. Especially, Juniper Springs. My wife likes the water, so when we go away, we try to stay beachfront. The beach reminds us of the Jersey Shore, where we both grew up and lived most of our lives. I enjoy meeting new people and just talking about their lives.
