What’s your name and role on the team?

My name is Kelly Hathaway, and I'm the Development Review Coordinator for the Office of the County Engineer.

What inspired you to join the peer support team?

In the last three years I've had multiple major life changing events. I know what it's like to have someone with no agenda of their own to make you feel heard and seen. 

What’s your background or experience with peer support?

I taught high school, worked in advocacy with CASA, humanitarian relief, had a parent with Alzheimer's and was married to a psychologist.

What’s one piece of advice or encouragement you’d share with someone seeking support?

Please don't let fear, embarrassment or anything else stop you from asking for help. You absolutely do not have face things on your own.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Hiking, having a dinner gathering, traveling, antiquing (that's a fancy word for thrifting), searching for a place to have High Tea. Oh, and telling my sisters they're wrong about acclimating to the heat.
