What's your name and role on the team?
My name is Natalie but my friends call me Nat, so you can call me Nat! I am the Administrative Staff Assistant in Human Resources, but I am more famous for my role as "The Hot Dog" or the county's resident jester. I try to bring a little fun and silliness into every day.
What inspired you to join the peer support team?
I am inspired to join the peer support team because I thrive on helping people in any way I can. From the little things like picking up a lunch order to being a listening ear for a grieving friend, my goal is to ensure nobody feels alone in their time of troubles.
What's your background or experience with peer support?
Though I do not have a lot of experience with peer support in a professional setting, I have been a friend to someone since before kindergarten, and I want to continue to support my fellow human any way I can through listening, teaching, and guiding.
What's one piece of advice or encouragement you'd share with someone seeking support?
Have the unwavering faith in yourself that you will persevere through anything.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love being outdoors and spending time with my critters at home. On my days off, you can catch me walking, and sometimes crawling, around my house catching grasshoppers for my six chickens. When I am not doing schoolwork, I am on Pinterest hunting for my next project or watching the newest scary movie that finally dropped on HBO.
How can people reach out to you?
I am available any time you need a friend. My office hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 - 5:00, but I am always available by text at 407-756-2106.
