What's your name and role on the team?

My name is Sindy Sato and I am a Librarian at the Main Library Headquarters.

What inspired you to join the peer support team?

What inspired me to join the peer support team was to help others navigate challenges, just as others have helped me through grief and depression.

What's your background or experience with peer support?

With my background in education, I believe in the power of listening, learning and community, and I know how important it is to have a strong support system and a safe space to connect.

What's one piece of advice or encouragement you'd share with someone seeking support?

My advice? Sometimes, just talking to someone can make all the difference.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening and baking (if it's under 75º) or complaining about the heat (when it's over 75°), discovering new places, watching hockey, singing (badly), dancing (poorly), and tormenting my co-workers to join me for yoga classes at the Wellness Center.
